Vessel Arrangment 1
Using the vessel as my springboard, I ask viewers to consider subtle nuance over obtrusive novelty. Every piece is individually designed to have soft and quiet qualities in both color and form. I create collections of vessels, both small and large, with the intent of generating new interpretations of familiar forms, allowing for slow moving shifts between the similar and distinct qualities each vessel holds.
The long and embedded history of the vessel encompasses a vast range of purposes, from utility to decorative, the symbolic to the narrative. Using vessels as form and metaphor allows me to move freely in various presentations and arrangements, from the intimate to the immersive.
